Tickets go on sale Wednesday, March 5, for The Erwin Record’s second annual “Record of Service Awards” banquet.
Award winners will be announced at the gala event, which will be held Thursday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m. at Unicoi United Methodist Church’s Community Life Center, 702 Virginia St., Unicoi. Award categories include Health Care, Education, Service to the Community (individual and group), Public Service, Emergency Services and Business.
Tickets, which are $10 each, will be available at The Erwin Record offices at 218 Gay St. in historic downtown Erwin. Tickets will not be available the night of the event and must be purchased by March 28.
Carrabba’s Italian Grill, often hailed as one of the region’s best restaurants, and much talked about for its delicious contribution to last year’s celebration, will again provide the meal for the event.
“We’re excited to be hosting our second annual awards dinner, and we invite the community to join us in celebrating those who offer their service to Unicoi County,” said Publisher Mark A. Stevens. “We hope to make it an even bigger night than last year.”
Last year’s honorees were Catherine Harrison, Dwight Ferguson, Terry Haynes, Don Wilson, Charles Miller, Ken Cawthorne and the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. U.S. Rep. David Davis received a special honor.
